Ashly is a partner and head of the firm’s Anti-Counterfeiting and Litigation Group. She has been with the firm since 2011. Ashly’s practice focuses on multiple areas of intellectual property law, including, anti-counterfeiting, trademark, trade dress, copyright, licensing, internet, false advertising, and unfair competition. A significant part of her practice is trademark, copyright, and false advertising litigation – giving her vast experience in intellectual property case law as she routinely successfully litigates high-stakes cases for some of the world’s most renowned brands before federal trial and appellate courts. Ashly has an ability to partner with clients, providing practical solutions and counseling for their most complex issues. In addition to her litigation expertise, she specializes in advising global brands in a multitude of industries in building, managing, using, protecting, and enforcing their intellectual property rights and assets, and is known for her innovation and experience in developing, implementing, and managing successful, tailored anti-counterfeiting programs. Finally, as part of her intellectual property practice, Ashly has drafted a multitude of IP agreements and handled countless disputes involving IP licenses and related sponsorship, broadcast, and distribution agreements.

Ashly, along with partner, Jason M. Drangel, is also the co-founder of the Anti-Counterfeiting World Law Summit which takes place yearly in London and brings together brands from all industries and legal experts in the anti-counterfeiting field to share best practices and innovative and successful enforcement strategies.

Prior to joining Epstein Drangel LLP, during her law school career, Ashly gained experience developing anti-counterfeiting and anti-piracy strategies, working on successful trademark and copyright litigations, managing corporations’ interests in extensive intellectual property libraries, addressing internet issues such as service provider liability, copyright and trademark use on the internet, including DMCA provisions and domain name disputes, and negotiating and drafting advertising, licensing, publishing, distribution and promotional agreements through her internships at The Donna Karan Company, the Michael Kors Company as Licensing Intern, at Chanel as Internet Law Intern, and at MTV Networks on a project for the Anti-Piracy Enforcement Team. Additionally, Ashly also worked for the Hon. Kent A. Jordan as a summer law clerk on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Ashly was also cofounder of “CaseClothesed.com,” listed as law.com’s 15 new blogs to watch.

In her free time, Ashly enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two children, Barre and HIIT classes, cooking delicious things, reading crime novels and trying new omakase restaurants.
